Predict your psychiatric drug interactions with this genetic test. Up to half of all patients respond poorly to the first psychiatric medication they try. That's because everyone's body is different, and how your body respond to a given medication is influenced by your genetic makeup, or your individual DNA. Genecept looks at key genes in your body that affect how it rsponds to medication. This can help your clinician understand if a drug may work for you befoe you even try it. With this information and your history, your clinician can find the right treatments so you can feel better faster. Whether you suffer from Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, or another mental health condition, this test can help guide your treatment plan.
What this test includes:
- a look at a key group of genes that are specific to mental health treatments. These genes include Pharacodynamic genes that tell your clinician about the effect a drug will have on the body, and Pharmacokinetic genes that indicates the effect your body has on the drug, and determines the speed at which the body breaks down and gets ri of the drug. Pharmacokinetic genes help to inform the dosage so you are not taking too much or little of a drug.
